Components of Functional Fitness
Training Kinsei-Do centers around the five components of physical fitness that form the foundation of all human movement, the pillars of fitness. These are Endurance, Strength and Power, Speed and Agility, Flexibility and Mobility, and Balance and Coordination.

Different Goals, Different Methods
Depending on your goals, the way we train you will look and be different. From relatively high intensity workouts using your own body and light loads to functional body building and flow or sequence based mobility and strength workouts more commonly associated with yoga practice, everything has its place in the Kinsei-Do methodology.

Kinsei-Do Functional Fitness training is suitable for (almost) any fitness level and foundation. From newbie to serious fitness enthusiast, Kinsei-Do offers something for everyone.
In our in person sessions, a great deal of time and energy is spent on developing optimal mobility and a strong movement foundation, and to this end, we focus on basic human movements such as squatting, pulling, pressing and core stabilization, and progressively build strength and endurance in these according to everyone's individual capacity and needs. |

What's behind the name?
Kinsei-Do (均整道) consists of the two Japanese words, Kinsei and Do.
Kinsei means proportioned or well balanced, and Do signifies a method, art or way; hence in combination, Kinsei-Do stands for the art or way of (achieving or maintaining) a strong, fit and balanced body with optimal physical capabilities. Kinsei-Do is The Way of Functional Fitness!
