Second Edition, June 2020

We are back, ladies and gents, athletes and friends, with the second edition of the Kinsei-Do/Stronghold Community e-newsletter!

As many countries around the world start recovering and loosening some of the social restrictions, we know that unfortunately in Indonesia, we are still not yet "over the hill". We also, however, know that worrying and complaining about things we cannot control is pointless, so we do not waste a single breath on it.

Keep your head down, ninjas, but your spirits high! We will get through this, and come out stronger on the other side!

What's New

We are greatly saddened by the recent news that our gym, our happy place, the #HomeofTangerangsFittest, Stronghold Fit n Punch, has closed (for now).

At this moment, there are many unknowns. We don't know when it will be "safe" to work out together with others in relatively small spaces again. We don't know how the spread of the virus can be contained or controlled. We don't know what the government will and will not let us do even after the restrictions are lifted.

But one thing we do know: that we will beat this virus, this crisis, and we will rise from the ashes stronger, leaner and better than before. This applies to ourselves physically and mentally*, but also to our gym, our community and our operations on a whole.
Maybe we will no longer be called Stronghold, but we - the Ninjas, the community of Tangerang's Fittest - will be back, and we look forward to welcoming you on that ride again in the future!

​* probably not all of us will come out of this crisis leaner than before, but don't worry, we'll get you back on track ;)

The Stronger and Faster Runner Program

On May 18th, we launched our first ever exclusive online coached group training program, the 6 Week Stronger and Faster Runner program.

​As you can guess from the name, the aim of the program is to improve your short to middle distance (anything between 1km and 5km) performance. We incorporate moderate pace long runs to build up your aerobic capacity, fast interval runs to train your speed and power as well as our usual Strength Endurance building Metcons.
The program also includes running specific warm ups, cool downs and flexibility routines, as well as a daily Wake Me Up mobility routine to start off the day!

The first group has already started and will finish the program on June 28th. The program will re-open for the second batch in July!

Kinsei-Do is four years old!

It's hard to believe, but Kinsei-Do Fitness is now already four years old: our very first bootcamp was held on June 11, 2016, back in the Breeze in BSD!*

On our first anniversary in 2017, we celebrated with a cracking Fun Competition at our (then) home, Q-Big, and followed that up with a dinner.

For our third birthday in 2019, the workout became much shorter, but the dinner much grander, at the one and only Sale Restaurant in BSD.
Virtual is the #NewNormal!

Not only work meetings and training have gone online, celebrations and parties have as well!
In line with this, we will celebrate our fourth anniversary with an online Quiz Night gettogether!
